After releasing his EP "Caligram" in October of 2006, Amenofils decided to turn his back on Salzburg for a while. Together with his better half he moved to Romainville in the suburbs of the Paris metropolis. This is were the first lyrics off "La Prophetie de Samar- ra" were born.
Motivated by current events and recent trends in rap music the Franco-Austrian decided to return to the roots of 90's "Boom Bap" and adopted a harder rap-style. The inspiration by U.S. east coast rap music is as obvious, as is a french touch in the melancholic nature of the beats. Musically it is rather hard to compare Amenofils's album to other releases in the HipHop genre.
A breath of mysticism as well as the selection of features and instrumentals provide for an unknown sound experience. However, it is not the artist's ambition to reinvent rap music, but rather to draw on established formulas. An intention that is expressed by the eclectic arrangement of those factors which contribute to the creation of a grounded and solid acoustic experience This uncommon combination, to a large extent, contributes to this album's unique feel.
This philosophy is carried throughout the album, not just in sentiment, but also tone making it stand out in its genre.
